Aftermath

The Hmong Veteran bill would change the definition of veterans because many Hmong veterans just wanted to be recognized.  Sen. Jennifer Shillings and Kolar both wanted to pass this bill because they wanted to pay back hmong veterans who fought in the secret war beside the CIA. By passing this bill it could make poor hmong families have a lot easier time. It would also put a greater view on the Hmong community.  Hopefully Soon this bill would be able to spread across the nation, this bill will show how important these hmong veterans are to us and the hmong community. May 14 is now announced as the first hmong veterans day. Unfortunately, this bill is not official with the US, meaning that only some states have this bill.​​​​​​​
